If you plan to fly aerial photography missions for hire, a commercial pilot certificate is required. This half-day, hands-on training is designed to give you the real-world skills and techniques used by professional aerial photographers and pilots.
Learn how to position your aircraft with precision, communicate effectively with ATC, and create a smooth, stable platform for photographers to capture exceptional imagery.
In this training, you’ll learn how to:
- Fly in complex airspace
- Plan and execute successful aerial photography missions
- Communicate and coordinate with ATC for optimal positioning
- Work seamlessly with photographers to get the shot
- Use advanced positioning techniques, including near-vertical perspectives
- Safely apply uncoordinated flight (yawing, flat turns, cross-controlled) to improve camera angles
- Avoid common mistakes that compromise safety or image quality
- Determine optimal distances and altitudes for different subjects
- Fly precise flight lines for mapping and commercial work
- Efficiently locate and identify target sites
